An Atlantan Visits the Islands: Poke! – Food Stop 3

Suisan Fish Market: Hilo, Big Island, HI, USA

We stopped by here on our last day in Hilo for a quick bite before Rainbow Falls and the airport. I haven’t had poke or fresh fish since coming to Hawaii for my 9day vacation so I was ecstatic to find that this place was literally a 5min drive from our Airbnb! I got the Hawaiian poke, spicy tuna poke, hijiki quinoa, and spicy crab salad in a two-poke plate (to go).

PROS:
– super large quantity
– definitely worth the price
– shareable
– not overly salty (some poke can be overseasoned)
– fresh fresh fresh
– QUICK service: you wait in line, you can see what you want, you pick, and boom you go pay at a separate line at the cashier.

CONS:
– parking is super limited around the restaurant. We had to leave our car running out front.
